Atul is very correct that Aplomados a a joy to watch hunting, I have see the male and female hunt cooperatively... it was amazing. In one instance the male chased an Eastern Meadowlark into the dense branches of a tree, as the male Aplomado struggled in the foilage the E. Meadowlark escaped the tree only to discover that the Female Aplomado had been hovering above the tree anticipating the Meadowlarks exit. Easy prey for the Aplomado. Female Aplomados are approximately 30 percent larger than the males.
