A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Sarracenia minor var. okefenokeensis
Spotted in the Okefenokee Swamp in southeastern GA. Due to its extremely small range, this plant is classified as globally imperiled.
Floating prairies, or immediately on the edge of or in shallow water (e.g. margins of wet ditches or marshes), or on low hummocks in shallow water in hemic or sapric soils.
This variety is limited to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and surrounding areas (< 8 km beyond Refuge borders) in southeastern Georgia.

The Okefenokee is a truly amazing place!
Very nice! A friend from work is a carnivorous plant enthusiast and grower and he goes at least once a year to Okefenokee.
