Spotted in the royal gardens in Brussels. These gardens open to the public for about a month each year. They are closed the rest of the year for 'privat' use.

@alicelongmartin, @mylyoung, Bromiliad would be my guess as well, but with over 3000 species I hoped someone could be more specific. I'll continue the research.

I was thinking Bromiliad, too, Alice. It has that look about it.
