Black Kite

Milvus miigranus

Description:

A medium sized raptor. Black band on back of wings.

Habitat:

Found in openly wooded areas, scrubland, swamp, grassland and mudflats generally around water through out Australia.

Notes:

Feasting on prey during the cane cutting season. I got it confused with the whistling kite.
