Description:

Colorful, round, and growing off of a palm tree.

Habitat:

An Australian palm grown in our backyard.

Notes:

"It can grow up to and over 20 metres tall. Its flower color is violet and the red fruits are attractive to birds. It flowers in midsummer and has evergreen foliage. In the United States, the palm is commonly cultivated in California from San Luis Obispo south to the Mexican border and in coastal South Florida (wikipedia)."

Fishtail palm is the one I'm the most familiar with, but the fronds from the last photo don't match.

Great, thanks. My knowledge of palms is very limited but do you think this could be a type of Areca palm - Areca sp?

I added a photo, it's right next to another species of palm tree though. The fronds are long, green, and are very high up in the tree.
