Lucky you William, to have seen so much of the park and surrounds. I've only been twice, and both times were amazing.

Yellowstone Park is amazing in May when the roads are open still the sides are 20/30 feet high with snow bank ~ then all of a sudden your in West Thumb and there are butterflies and critters just walk'n around. Later in the Fall is the best time to visit Yellowstone Park.
i lived in Jackson, WY on the Snake River, for 15 yrs and now in Billings, MT on the Yellowstone River.

Noe and Pili, you really do. It's beyond amazing. If you get the chance, do the drive south from Banff, Canada and down to the Tetons. We pretty much saw everything; deer, elk, mountain goats, dall sheep, grizzle bear, moose, coyote, wolves, pronghorns, eagles - the list goes on and on. And then there were the geysers, etc.

I love how you're driving through some long stretch of wilderness and keeping a sharp lookout for wildlife, then you get some place more developed, and there's some honking great critter, just standing (or sitting) around. I once drove all the way through Canada and most of the way to Anchorage without seeing a anything larger than a snowshoe hare, than I spotted a huge moose just on the out-skirts of town.
