Habitat:

It inhabits arid scrub and desert over most of central Australia.

Great photo! If I'm not mistaken the have the ability of capillary action outside of their bodies, allowing water to be drawn to their mouths from anywhere on its body - including water they're standing in. I believe they also expel blood from their eyes as a defense mechanism. Wild!
