shield bug nymph

Lyramorpha sp.

Description:

Hemiptera: Tessaratomidae: (Lyramorpha)

Habitat:

Large semi-urban yard/garden next to a disturbed remnant patch of forest.

Notes:

There are posted photos of "Lyramorpha rosea" nymphs on various websites that look very much like this specimen. However EOL doesn't treat the genus. The source http://www.heteroptera.fr/tessite/Lyramo... lists range for L. rosea as Australia (but not New Guinea).
