Spotted Lady Beetle

Coleomegilla maculata

Description:

Unfortunately, this isn't the Lost Ladybug--just a distant relative I suppose. According to the Lost Ladybug Project, this guy is too long and skinny and has a black pronotum with red edges instead of white.

Habitat:

Native to the northeast and midwest parts of the United States, I found this little guy climbing on some leaves I'd just finished trimming off my bushes in front of my house.
