Eastern Kingbird

Tyrannus tyrannus

Description:

About 8.5 inches long, with strongly contrasting gray and white sections.

Habitat:

Pond's edge.

Notes:

I have seen two of these birds here, only on one day a year, at the first part of August. They perch around the pond, and make low swoops into the water, and then fly back up into a tree.
