Well, my equipment is as "simple" as the objects I just try to get in a frame of beauty. The eye for it counts much more than the equipment. But I guess that's a different story if we're talking about submerged photography ;)
I'm still learning and getting the hang of it. Took up diving only year ago and found that taking photos distracted me from inner fears during my scuba training. Now look forward to more dives and spottings. Have to upgrade my point and shoot though to a dslr with strobes for better pictures such as yours. Just too expensive though :-)
