Phoenix canariensis

Description:

Typical palm tree you can find in the Sardinian cities along the coast

Habitat:

This kind of trees are not very typical of the hole Italy, because there's no tropical weather here, but you can find them in the islands (Sardinia and Sicily) and in the southern coasts where the weather is hot and humid (Mediterranean weather)

Notes:

It was about 10 meters high! (33 ft)

Yes..many Dates species are not eat by human. Such dates used to feed camel and cattle.

I guess fruits are those orange branches but for what I know we don't get fruits from it here, we get them from Tunisy or little warmer countries
