Beadlet Anemone

Actinia equina

Description:

These anemones were anchored tight to rock walls on the beach. Some were trapped in small tidal pools, and opened to reveal orangey tentacles. Although most of those spotted were deep red in colour (as in pictures), there was a lone mossy green one in the mix.

Habitat:

At the tidal line on the Western shores of England, anchored to rocks and surrounded by clumps of limpets, mussels and whelks.
