Shag

Phalacrocorax aristotelis

Description:

On a trip out to the island just of the Irish coast from Howth, a large colony of shags were present on their nests and breeding grounds. I managed to get quite close for some more intimate shots. (People are allowed on the island with the birds, many boat trips are run throughout the day)
