Description:

Please help ID this fungus. I think it's a Russula pulchra, or brittlegill, but I can't say for certain. Any help or ideas you guys have is appreciated. It was about 3.5 inches tall, with a fragile cap under some trees. Red cap with a white stem and gills.

Habitat:

Deciduous forests in the Eastern United States.
