That's a butterfly bush it is hanging out on.....I have them that visit my butterfly bushes as well. The thing I was most surprised by is how they will fight to defend their "territory" on the butterfly bush. They will fly up in the air above the bush and attack and ward off other monarchs that might want to get close to it. They will also guard false sunflower and purple coneflower. Very cool butterflies.
