Description:

Common European species, some 5 cm in wingspan; with brown wings with yellow spots, some of them filled concentric circles of black and blue.

Habitat:

Widespread and common, mainly in woodland, species of Eurasia and North Africa. It prefers shadowy and moist environment of low density forests. Here, found in our garden in mediterranean setting - usually quite dry at this time of the year; but luxuriantly green this year...
