It was taken from a kayak. We've had good luck getting close to otters, both puffins sometimes Common Murres and these but never to any of the ducks or seals. In Kachemak bay we can't get close to any of the birds. Why did you leave Alaska?

Resurrection Bay is usually pretty calm with the exception of afternoon winds and storms. Makes for great kayaking. We were at the Sealife Center about 2 weeks ago, winter is a great time to visit. The scientific studies are just getting geared up and the first orphaned sea otter just arrived.
