I encountered female (first three pictures) and male (last three pictures) Western Tailed-Blues on an abandoned logging road in North Plains, OR. The males were more active while the females were perched on wild oats with their wings closed.
I spotted Common Vetch (Vicia sativa), which would have served as the host plant for the caterpillars. Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and Goldenrod (Solidago) were the likely sources of flower nectar for adults.
