Evergreen Blackberry

Rubus laciniatus

Description:

A berry that we presumed to be blackberries, but those leaves are definitely not (normal) blackberry leaves. We ate one each and aren't dead (yet). Turns out they're a different (and invasive) type of blackberry. Thanks @Michele for the ID! Low-lying shrub with what appeared to be a pretty respectable spread.

Habitat:

In a Yosemite Valley meadow.
