Luna Moth

Actias luna

Description:

Approximately a 3.5/4 inch wing span with an actual body length of about two inches. Bright green wings with yellowish veins and brown shoulders. Actual body is very soft and white and heavy.

Habitat:

Deciduous hardwood woodlands, young generally found near birch or walnut trees.

Notes:

Hatched from its cocoon along with two others on my front porch.
