Description:

i had just spent an hour in the living room of a pair of Long-billed Curlews taking photos in the Pryor Mtns of South Central Montana... heading home to Billings, about to take a photo of a Gadwall when this - what the heck came scampering across the road and gone!

Habitat:

marshy, brackish waters, rice fields

Notes:

i know where they are now. Like most Rail an Gallinules ~ they are heard but not easily seen.
