Podaxis pistillaris
Upon reaching maturity, this fairly common urban mushroom splits (or a child kicks it out of curiosity), to release the mass amount of dark spores onto the wind so that they can grow elsewhere.
Usually tends to grow in areas where the soil has been shifted. Since these rocks are a common way to decorate pathways and sidewalks, they were manually introduced, and as a result, these mushrooms now are also part of the scene. The genus Podaxis has been seen in all arid parts of the earth, excluding Antarctica.
