Oxyrhopus guibei
My dog found this beautiful and big snake in my garden this morning. Before the dog killed it, I took it and put it in a nearby forest area. It´s an inoffensive snake that eats gekkos and small insects. The eyes are red.

Wow, Interesting!!
That is interesting about the dog and your daughter. Must be some kind of primitive instinct.
Hi Dan,
The dog was barking a lot and trying to find the head of the snake, that was in a hole. Somehow it knew that was the dangerous part of the snake. Another interesting thing: When I showed the snake in the bottle to my small daughter, 1 and a half year old, she became very afraid, even though she had never seen a snake before. Some kind of primitive instinct I think !
Ooops, I just meant I found more.
I'm surprised your dog is so close to it.
@digi sarah, I think that is true. I found a more very similar.

Very pretty snake.
A few days ago a gentleman posted a spotting about how his dog killed two cobras one after the other. I felt like asking him ,was there any need to kill the cobra? You could have shooed them away or stayed away from them . But why train your dog to kill the cobra? Nothing to be proud of!!
"Red beside yellow kills a fellow / red beside black, venom lack"
Does anyone know if this old folk rule is actually accurate? It seems to be in this case.
I am very glad that you saved this beautiful snake.
Sure do, everyday when I go into class I love seeing the look on my classmates faces when they see the pythons, corn snakes, rosy boas, and constrictors in Biology. We also have a snake similar to tis, I'll have to take some pics and identify it. :)
People have histerical reactions concerning snakes.
Emma, this snake is very common in my area and a lot of people kill them because they are afraid they might be poison. This one got lucky!
Very pretty snake!!
@rubens ,thank you for not killing the snake.
