Pipilo maculatus
Male - blackish head, red eye, broad white spots on upperparts, white underparts, rusty flanks, long tail with white outer feathers. Female - much the same except the head is brownish. The photos depict a male and a juvenile.
Likes thickets and shrubs.
Spotted at the Carty Unit of the Ridgefield NWR.
