Heliconia Psittacorum

Description:

It is usually 0.5-2 m tall, with bracts of various shades of green and red and banana-shaped flowers of yellow, orange, or red that have a distinctive dark green or black band below a light (usually white or yellow) tip.

Notes:

these grow wild here, but I see them in home gardens and at hotels in the area. I spotted a group of them when taking a short cut to the market. Pretty.
