Lithobates catesbeianus; Libellula vibrans
An American bullfrog attacks a female Great Blue Skimmer (Libellula vibrans) as she oviposits eggs in the wetlands. Photo 1 of 2 is a copy of the original photograph, annotated to highlight the dragonfly; Photo 2 of 2 is the original photograph. See also "Flying frog attacks dragonfly," a recent post on my Posterous photoblog featuring two video clips and two galleries of a time series of 10 still photos saved from one of the videos. The video clips, still photos, and related narrative text in my Posterous photoblog post tell a much more compelling story than either a YouTube or Vimeo video alone ever could.
