Description:

With California Ground Squirrels (Otospermophilus beecheyi) at left and Mourning Dove (Zenaida macroura) in front, somewhat hidden by greenery. Easily distinguished from other sparrows by black-and-white striped pattern on the heads of adults.

Habitat:

Sighted at the feeders near the entrance of the Los Angeles Zoo.
