Northern Walkingstick

Diapheromera femorata

Description:

Gravid walking stick female.

Habitat:

On woody understory plant near Little Juniata River.

Notes:

According to herper.com there are only two species of walking sticks found in PA: Diapheromera femorata and Anisomorpha ferruginea. This one is not A. ferruginea, and looks like a match with D. femorata on bugguide.net. (http://www.herper.com/insects/naphasmids...)
