Hmm. The insect in the picture looks, to me, like a moth, specifically a Lichen Moth in the genus Lycomorpha. That, however, would be inconsistent with the behavior you have described.http://bugguide.net/node/view/7992/bgpag...

Hmm. The insect in the picture looks, to me, like a moth, specifically a Lichen Moth in the genus Lycomorpha. That, however, would be inconsistent with the behavior you have described.
