Unknown Russula

Russula sp.

Description:

Cap was smooth textured. Red-orange in color.

Habitat:

Boreal/deciduous forest, Northern Ontario.

Notes:

Found two or three of these mushrooms while hiking the Bruce Trail in the Northern Bruce Peninsula. Small and sporadic, they caught my eye a couple of times. Believe it to be Russula emetica, would appreciate any further suggestions.

Looks a little like Gomphidius subroseus as well.... though that would be rare in this part of Canada..
