Olive Backed Sun-bird (Male)

Nectarina jugularis

Description:

Sunbirds survive mainly on nectar, although they may snack on the occasional insect. Their nectar extraction equipment include: a long, slender, decurved bill with fine serration along the margins of both mandibles; and a tubular, deeply cleft tongue.

Notes:

Spotted a big family of these birds today feeding at the Botanical Gardens Singapore.

Mostly luck! Just there at the right time I guess. Some pictures come out and good and others not so great. This guy was kind enough to sit on this flower for a little while, long enough for me to take his picture.

I totally agree Cecilia, there are so many beautiful and amazing things on this world. I just enjoy photographing them, so I can always look at the pictures and learn to appreciate the small things in life. Thank you for the comment :)
