Lycopodium sp (maybe Lycopodium obscurum)

Description:

Low growing plant on cliff side. Each sprig was about 2 1/2 " across. Plants covered about a 3 foot area.

Habitat:

Cliff side, red clay soil. In mixed forest. On east side of meadow lane road

Notes:

Pic from 7/2011. Craigwilliams, thanks for ID, I could not locate in my texts. An interesting little plant.
