Sarcomyxa serotina
Sticky, yellow-green cap with yellow gills and a short, stub-like stem. The caps ranged in size from 3-6 cm wide, and they were fan-shaped with incurved margins. The gills were attached and looked like they were descending the stem.
Growing in a small cluster on a rotting log in a deciduous forest.
This mushroom has been dubbed as the harbinger of the end of mushroom season as it appears in October to November (after the first frost).
