Scaly-breasted Munia

Description:

Small bird with brown head and wings, and scallop- (or scale-) shaped marking on the chest and belly. Strong almost triangular beak.

Notes:

A flock of about 20 Scaly-breasted Munia feasting on the grass seeds along a Canal at Pasir Ris Farmway 3, Singapore. Also known as Spotted Munia, Nutmeg Mannikin or Spice Finch.
