Hibiscus Leaf Moth Caterpillar

Anomis privata

Description:

Gray caterpillar with yellow stripes, black spots, and tiny hairs. Was found on my Rose Of Sharon plant stem (obviously eating the leaves too), perfectly camouflaged (can you find it in the first picture?), at the start of November even after we had snow flurries last week! It's amazing how it blended so good on this particular plant!

Habitat:

Eats plants in the Hibiscus family

Notes:

Not common in the U.S.
