Yeah for such a docile critter they do have unexpectedly scary looking teeth! I know I was scared the first one grinned and hissed at me. The elongated skull definitely looks weird without the fur too. Kind of like a mini saber tooth alien skull ;)

not that rare CarolSnowWhite, I have 2, maybe 3, spottings of opossum this year, all dead, not "playing possum"

Thanks for the ID annorion, it does look like opossum skulls in google image. I didn't think an opossum would have such big teeth!

WOW! I was going to post my skeleton head of a deer, but can't find it at the moment. But it scared me half to death. This would make me faint. Great find! Very good detail.
