Helvella lacunosa & crispa
Unusually misshapen caps on these mushrooms drew my attention right away. There was a grey capped one and a white one within a foot of each other. Mushrooms of the Pacific Northwest says "The caps are saddle-shaped or lobed, sometimes irregularly so, and the margin is sometimes fused with the stipe. The stipe is deeply furrowed, with single- or double-edged longitudinal ridges and pits ( lacunae)."
I included these two Helvella in one spotting as I am not sure if they are separate species or not. They were really cool!! in a weird way...
