Syrphidae
On July 28th as I was about to cut down the Tropical Pokeweed, Phytolacca, icosandra, in the garden, I found this worm/caterpillar like creature, it crawled side to side lifting the top of the body, the pink side would elongate come down and go forward. Picture #1 and #2
On August 7th, they were strongly stuck to the branches or the leaves of the plant, they felt very hard to the touch. Picture #3 and #4. On August 16th, there was only the empty shell, even though I was checking every day, I did not get to see what came out....Picture #5 and #6
Te copio el enlace a mi spotting del capullo de una avispilla. No sé si te servirá para encontar la ID. Abrazos.

Amazing Gilma. I must have missed this one. Not many Dipteran larvae have colors like this. Great find.
Thank you, Adarsha, I got a common name so I suppose that is some kind of ID, I will edit when I search a bit more....
Thank you so much, Falco Sparverius1. It looks like you are in the right track, I will check a little further, that picture is like mine with a bit of different colors. I imagine there would be variations.Thank you again
http://i488.photobucket.com/albums/rr249... similar photo of a Hover Fly Larvae, a little less colorful =)
Thank you, PieterColpaert. This creature lives in the Pokeweed and they both have amazing colors.
Thank you so much, Zariga. I am curious about what it might be also, I am not so good at ID's so hopefully a member of PN would.
Thank you, ScottHarte, it was odd, never seen it before.
Thank you so much, ForestDragon, the coloring is fantastic, it even kept some of the color when it became a cocoon. (got hard on the leaf)...
Thank you so much, Sckel and LaurenZarate, looks like both of you think it might be Syrphidae larva.....
Incredible colours, such an odd look. I'm curious about what it might be, hope someone can give it an ID soon.
Great shot, great spotting!
