Fantastic spotting and picture! Just when the skunk was sprying something....gladly you were in front of it...=)
You don't want to be on the wrong end of that one for sure. It takes forever to get rid of the smell. Perfume companies would pay a fortune for that clinging, albeit no-stink, formula.
@Ava...I already saved the link to my favorites, thanks for the info...just in case!
This is a great spotting! I deleted your other duplicate spotting and added this to the Best Wildlife Photo mission.
As a youg teen, I knew a farm girl who's family we visited a couple of times a year. One time, she brought out her pet skunk to show me. I reached out to pet it & startles it. It bit my finger & sprayed her (it had not been descented yet) at the same time! Her mom threw away her clothes & put her in the tub with tomato juice & bleach while she cleaned & bandaged my finger! Next visit, I didn't see the skunk, not sure if they got rid of it ir if she just kept it away from me!
Here's a recipe better than tomato juice: http://dogs.about.com/od/caringfordogsan...
Thanks Frazier...I read about the tomato juice once but it sounded silly to me, but now....I hope I never have to find out personally!!!
I've seen them spray into the wind...and once a kid came to my school after having been sprayed. The school authorities sent him to the showers with large cans of tomato juice. I guess t worked...eventually ;-)
Thanks guys...this little guy was ready for some action. You are right Darlene, good thing he was facing me!!!!!
Is it true that the only thing that will get rid of the smell of skunk pee is tomato juice?
