House Finch

Carpodacus mexicanus

Description:

There were about 30 of these finches on this tree. Photos of males and females eating the berries. They are very similar to the purple finch but I do believe these are house finches. I would like to know what kind of tree this is?

I think I will go back and take a photo of the tree and berries and see if someone here knows.
