Both Sedum and Jade plant belong to the family Crassulaceae.
Yes this is a Jade plant.

@ VivBraznell: Is this Sedum or Crassula sp. ? I am no expert and there is little to go by in the photo but, I think it looks more like a jade plant (Cressula ovata).
The leaves of the Sedum are scooped like a spoon whereas Cressula has fuller leaves.

@ Viv,My neighborhood has a variety of birds. But sadly I have just seen one or two butterflies.
