Description:

Family: Nymphalidae. Subfamily: Nymphalinae. Wingspan: 45-67 mm. Upperside is uneven brown, yellow, white and orange pattern. Forewings with black apical patch, small white spots in orange field. Underside has 2 large eyespots. Adults feed on nectar of dogbane, aster, goldenrod, marigold and other.

Habitat:

Meadow on property with abundant flowers and weeds.
