Western Gull

Larus occidentalis

Description:

Medium-sized birds with orange bills and feet. They had winter feathers - mottled brown and black.

Habitat:

These birds were all over the beach, chasing the tide back and forth as they dug in the surf for food. Bigger than all the other birds on shore, these gulls were also the only ones that didn't head inland when they left the shore. I'm pretty sure they headed out to Isla Todos Santos in the bay.
