Hypomyces chrysospermus
This fungus begins by infecting the mushroom's pores as a white, powdery mold. It quickly spreads across the mushroom, sometimes engulfing it entirely and distorting its growth.
Growing under a hemlock tree between a meadow and a mixed forest.
