Monarch Butterfly

Danaus plexippus

Description:

This Monarch was spotted in mid October in western Michigan. This seems to be very late for the migratory Monarch. If anyone has any information or insight on this, I'd love to hear it! Thanks in advance :)

Habitat:

Fields, meadows, weedy areas, marshes, and roadsides. Spotted on Spiderwort.
