Cucumber green spider

Araniella cucurbitina

Description:

Araniella cucurbitina, sometimes called the "cucumber green spider", is a spider of the family Araneidae. This spider does not use a hideout, because it is camouflaged by its green colour. Adult spiders first show this colour in spring. In this case, the spider had spun her web in a Clematis vitalba vine. It was spotted near Milina village, Pagasitikos gulf, Greece.
