Siphanta sp.
This tiny 4 mm nymph had a tadpole shape with a large thoracic plate, pale eyes, downward pointing rounded wing buds and segmented abdomen. Arising from the rear end of the abdomen was a tuft of stiff waxy spikes like a brush.
Spotted on a eucalyptus tree
Also called Torpedo bug.

ha ha ! Lori - not good eyesight, just desperation - I've been turning every leaf & twig around to find something interesting to photograph and document. Mark ( argybee, my hubby) has been finding some weird and wonderful things - I've been feeling sorry for myself lately.
Amazed you saw this in the first place. You must have very good eyesight.
You're right Ernst - they always reminded me of shrimps ( when magnified)
