Beautiful Cyana

Cyana bellissima (Moore, 1878)

Description:

Legs are black and white. Wing length: 28 mm.

Habitat:

Bamboo, cherry, pine and other forests. Cool to warm place. Altitude: 1,700 m.

Notes:

This moth was spotted under our terrace light.

KarenPuracan, I've witnessed it fly, but then it's a blurrrr, however as soon as it settles on to a spot it closes its wings immediately. There's therefore, no hope of it keeping its wings open and we getting a chance to observe it!

Thanks dotun55 for the comment, ID and the refs. My posting dated Jan 11, 2024 (Cyana bianca) looks similar, but admixture of that yellow band in this species! I just loved it.
