Common Bottlenose Dolphin

Tursiops truncatus

Description:

I'm basing this ID on the fact that this is the most common species of dolphin found in this area. We watched these pod fishing together for a couple of hours. There were four of five members and they would work as a team to drive the fish seemingly wherever they wanted them to go.

Habitat:

Warm and temperate seas worldwide.

Notes:

Spotted close to the piers and reeds at Waterfront Park in Charleston, SC
